suey! and the international tour begins…

December 6th, 2005

Thanks to everyone who came out to our show at Chop Suey last night. It was sparsely attended, in the way that only a Monday night show can be, but it was a hell of a lot of fun. Our buddies Amateur Radio Operator tore it up, too…you should’ve been there. Thanks to Alex for the awesome sound reinforcement, and thanks to Colin for setting up the show. I’ve uploaded some photos here and added the setlist to the Past Shows page.

Next up is an all-ages solo show at the SS Marie Antoinette (1235 Westlake Ave. N) this Friday, December 9. Doors are at 7pm, and the music begins at 8pm with TM Anderson. I play second at 9pm, and Sky Lynn and her band (collectively known as Levator) will take it home at 10pm. It should be a lot fun. Again, it’s ALL AGES and the cover charge is $5. Hope to see you there.

After that we’ll play our last show of 2005 at Fremont’s ToST Lounge on Tuesday, December 20. We play first at 9pm, and we’ll be followed by Woodrush and Rejoice. This is a 21+ show, and the cover is $5. Fremont’s been good to us in the past, so I’ve got high hopes for this show.

Finally, I’ve got some wonderful news: the first date of Red Jacket Mine’s sporadic international tour has been announced—I’ll be playing a solo show at Vancouver, BC’s Candy Bar on Saturday, January 21. I’ll be playing with my good friend(s) Octoberman, who’ll also be coming down for the next week’s show here in Seattle at the Mars Bar. As always, all details can be found on the Shows page.

That’s it for now…hope to see you at the Antoinette this Friday.
