the deluge begins…

October 25th, 2005

As the winter rains begin to fall on Seattle, a number of performance engagements have materialized for your friends in Red Jacket Mine.

You heard me right—friends. At upcoming Red Jacket Mine shows, I’ll be accompanied by longtime-behind-the-scenes percussionist-at-large Andy Salzman. Rather than wait around for the perfect lineup (i.e. McCartney on bass, Emmylou Harris on background vocals, etc.), Andy and I have decided to perform as a duo until other musicians turn up. So make sure you make it out to some/all of our upcoming gigs…you’ll be witnessing the first-ever Red Jacket Mine shows with drums.

The first of these gigs will take place next Thursday, November 3 at Pioneer Square’s hallowed J&M CafĂ© and Cardroom. Boise, Idaho’s own Thomas Paul will be opening, and we’ll be followed by Six Foot Savage.

Gigs are coming up at Fremont’s Nectar Lounge, the SS Marie Antoinette, and ToST Lounge. More are in the works. Check the Shows page for details. And don’t worry—I’ll remind you.

    hey its me again
just wanted to thank you for the op on the fender amp…i just couldnt bring myself to ask matt for anymore money, afterall he’d just spent 300.00 on me for the new mic, and forgiven the 300.00 i owed him on the recorder…..maybe i’ll have to wait a little longer on an amp. i just bought a laptop from daniel for tayler for X-mas.
he’d bought 3 on ebay. also wanted to wish you and yours a happy thanksgiving
what are you guys going to do?going to andy and rue’s?oh yeah forgot to tell you i cut off all my hair again(whats new!!right!) tay likes it short and i was getting sick of it as i always do, so now i wont need a hair cut for a couple years or so. plus i look “respectable” for the holidays(god pleaaaaase get me outta here!!!)
ive been working on the vocals with the new mic, its taken me some time getting used to it, but the new tracks are really starting to sound good. matt says they sound more like my natural live voice (dont know if thats really good or BAD)
anyway please send us something new as soon as you have it, and we’ll do the same

    love to all
