them changes

Greetings!

God, there’s so much to tell you all about. Let’s see if I can get it all straight…

First, there have been some major changes in our upcoming show schedule: our next show, Saturday, September 16 at the High Dive in Fremont, is now with The Swains and Memphis Radio Kings. Our friends in North Twin had to cancel, unfortunately, but this is still going to be a great bill and a very fun show. We play first, around 9pm.

Next, our in-store performance at Tower Records in Queen Anne has been cancelled. You may have heard about the financial difficulties Tower’s currently experiencing…as a result, the entire Radiance local in-store series has been discontinued for the time being. No hard feelings, though, and we wish Tower the best—they’ve been very kind to us in the past.

Finally, I have splendid news: we’ll be performing at Ballard’s Tractor Tavern on Thursday, October 5. We’ll be opening for locals Whalebones and a great touring act from NYC called Oakley Hall. We’re very excited about this show, and we know you’ll be, too.

The Tractor is our favorite club in town, and this show was a long time coming, but we couldn’t be happier. See, it turns out that this show will be our last before we take a couple months off and set up camp at Studio Litho to record the next Red Jacket Mine full-length. To celebrate the occasion, the Red Jacket Mine dour trio you all know and love will be augmented by a very special guest…stay tuned for more info on that. This will be a tremendous show, and we really hope you’ll all come out to send us off to the studio in style.

Enough show news…now on to web matters. First and foremost, head over to the Bio page right now and check out the handsome new hi-res promo photos, expertly taken by local god Seth Wonner. Seriously, Seth does amazing work, and we’re so lucky to have him on our side. Keep an eye out for full-band photos by Seth, coming this fall.

Also, I’ve uploaded one last demo for the new album to the still-fresh Web Exclusives page. The song’s called “Afterhours,” and it was the last one written in the summer-long creative outpouring that will eventually result in the next Red Jacket Mine album. Will this one make the cut? Probably, but only the Pope knows for sure. There’s some fierce competition. Anyway, go get it.

There’s also some new content to be seen on the Past Shows page, including setlists and reflections my recent trip back to RJM’s birthplace, Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Updated info on recent and ongoing obsessions of mine can be found on the Favorites page. And…I think that’s all for now.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. Hope to see you all at the High Dive on 9/16, and most importantly, the Tractor Tavern on 10/5. Remember: Thursday, October 5 at the Tractor Tavern. Be there!

Love you all,

LINCOLN
